Founders inspire me. It’s always exciting to see someone at the frontier of technology and business revolutionising the domain they are tackling.

I was nine when I first logged onto the internet.  And the gates to the rest of the world were flung wide open.

Economics was my major.  I started off on a traditional investment banking route in equity research, laser focused on 14-15 companies in 2-3 sectors, with the goal of attaining domain expertise.

And then I switched lanes. I moved to the other side, deploying capital into public equities, working across diverse sectors and geographies, investing in Saudi, UAE, Egypt, and gaining exposure to geographies as far west and east as Argentina and Indonesia.

I was reading about super interesting deals in VC. Witnessing the very strong acceleration -both in quality and quantity- that VC and the startup ecosystem were undergoing, I found the perfect way to marry my passion for science and tech, with my vocation of investing.

Emerging technologies keep me learning. There’s a large focus on emerging technology in VC and at STV.  The way these technologies go from scribblings on a whiteboard to a meaningful part of everyday life keeps me learning.

It surprised me to see the comfort with which people jump into new things at STV. You’ll always find someone diving into something hitherto entirely alien to them, quickly grasping what is going on, engaging ecosystem stakeholders and helping to tackle complex challenges.

STV in two words…curiosity and commitment.
